The Moon remains in Cancer today. The Moon is symbolic of the general emotional current of the public. The effect of the Moon is similar to its effect on the tides; how they ebb and flow with the position of the Moon. Jim Maynard writes, “The Moon greatly influences the personality, the subconscious and the emotions, and molds instinctual behavior. The lunar influence are strongest when focused through the sign of Cancer where they are most easily expressed.” Think of how when the Moon is Full and peoples behavior seems to be more subconsciously inspired. Today, we are strongly influenced by our feelings and may be driven to create emotional security in our lives.
The Moon in Cancer squares Uranus retrograde in Aries for the remainder of the day/night. This will add an element of surprise to our expression of emotion as Uranus in Aries asserts the Self in new ways based on insight, the need for freedom and a desire to create change. The square indicates there is a challenge between the expression of the different elements as Cancer is Water, a feeling sign, and Aries is Fire; a sign expressed through inspiration and a desire to take action. Taking time to allow our feelings to develop may help mitigate some of the electric nature of spontaneous Uranus in Aries while staying open to necessary insight Uranus offers and expressing our needs.
The Moon in Cancer squared Venus in Libra while Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius squared Mars in Pisces earlier this morning. This combination of energy may have brought up a review of what we thought was possible or where we have attempted to go but might now being seeing what is more realistic. Veils have been lifted and certain situations may dissolve. We can make adjustments based on wanting to feel emotionally sound and are willing to create harmony in order to facilitate that.
