Good Morning!
Well, it’s finally here; the Full Moon in Aries (Harvest Moon) at 8:52pm (MST)! Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is about asserting the Self. It’s the ‘me’ energy of the zodiac; attempting to get its needs met as it flexes its self assertive muscle. Aries represents courage, strength and inspired action. When we stand in our Aries Moon energy, we express our emotions with confidence and we will need it as this Full Moon as it conjuncts Chiron, the wounded healer. Chiron in Aries can bring up feelings around lack of self worth, putting others first, and not feeling a solid sense of who we are. At this Full Moon time, with the Sun in Libra (opposite Aries), this can lend toward difficulties making decisions, as our Libra nature vacillates due to the undermining feelings the Moon conjunct Chiron in Aries may be stirring up. These wounds may be core wounds from long ago, originating in family dynamics or even other lifetimes, as the Moon is the container for all of emotional memories. Although Chiron is the wound that never fully heals, we can gain more awareness around how it operates in our lives so we can stand in more presence, self-love and positive ego; no matter what others may think. Martin Lass writes, in ‘Chiron Healing Body and Soul’, “Chiron conjunct the Moon confers an emotional nature, that when confronted with difficulties or painful situations, seeks to escape or avoid the pain of the wound by immediately healing the wound and resolving the issues around it.” Therefore, this can be a time of massive healing. It can be an excellent time to create a healing ritual at 8:52pm (MST), offering a release of those wounds; allowing us to move forward with more confidence and strength through our emotional expression.
Another piece to this Full Moon in Aries is that Mercury in Libra is conjunct the Sun, which are opposite the Moon. This will bring us the desire to communicate, in all of our relationships, seeking balance and harmony. It will help temper some of the Moon/Chiron in Aries unconscious and impulsive emotional expression. Libra’s Achilles heel can be wanting to please others therefore remaining in indecision. With the Moon/Chiron in Aries wounded emotional expression operating, we need to be aware of avoiding this pitfall, as we could become overly self sacrificing; not feeling our inner strength. Express what we are thinking, in the most harmonious way possible, to let others know where we stand. This can also be a time for strengthening relationships; working out how old woulds may be operating within them.
A big part of this Full Moon is that Saturn in Capricorn is squaring the Sun/Mercury and Moon/Chiron, creating what is called a T-square. This dynamic energy causes Saturn to become the focal point for its release. This suggests that we must step into our personal authority as Saturn symbolizes responsibility, moving toward our goals and a plain old ‘doing what must be done’ approach.
A few other points about this Full Moon in Aries: Uranus, the great Awakener, in Taurus is playing a role, asking us to revolutionize our values, self worth and and ability to create security in our lives. Uranus asks us to look at things in a new and different way. Is what we value coming into question? With Uranus’s inconjunct relationship to the Sun/Mercury conjunction we are being reminded to navigate toward these new values; expressing them in our relationships with others and avoid staying in indecision or vacillation. Saturn’s recent trine to Uranus is also urging us to make these changes more concrete. Mars in Aquarius is moving towards a conjunction with the South Node, encouraging us to release the need to try to rationalize our way through old issues. With Mars sextiling the Moon/Chiron conjunction, this can become a sore spot, with our wounds drawing us into the past; attempting to work it out one more time. Yet, the recent Mars square Uranus can help us continue to act in ways that align with our new values while Mars moves towards a square to Venus in Scorpio bringing our deep desires in relationships into more focus.
If you know your chart, you can place the full Moon in it and see which area of life (house) this energy is more specifically affecting.
I created a video about this Full Moon in Aries if you would like to hear about it more in depth.
Happy Full Moon in Aries and make it a great day!
