Good Morning!
The New Moon occurs at 17’00” Virgo at 12:01pm (MST) today. New Moons are useful for setting intentions for the following two weeks; which you can expect to culminate at the Full Moon. Lynn Hayes writes about New Moon times, “At this time the Sun and Moon are aligned in the same sign; working together to fuse our conscious personality needs (Sun) with our subconscious instincts and emotions (Moon)”. New Moons are times when we are open to the unknown; receptive to feelings and emotional currents and are able to implement that insight into how we radiate ourselves out into the world.
The New Moon in Virgo means we will be focused on new beginnings which involve organization, attention to detail, the ability to discern, and a desire for purity and perfection through physical, emotional and mental health. From the Power Deck tarot, the card I drew this morning was ‘Virtue’ (behavior showing high moral standards); which is a quality of Virgo. It states, “Virtue is one of the passive qualities of power. Virtue is where you find inner truth. It is a place of illumination, and as that radiance grows within you, it become integrity. Without virtue, there is no inner balance. Virtue comes from the unknown, quiet things that you do for the world and other people. Like the one who walks last, the virtuous person is in a position of power. Power often comes quietly. Walk in beauty and virtue.” I would add that if we do not act with virtue we are polluting our own body/emotions/mind; the opposite of Virgo energy.
Mercury, which rules Virgo, is in the sign of Virgo making a Grand Earth trine with Saturn in Capricorn (which recently turned direct) and Uranus in Taurus. Grand Earth trines allow an ease of integrating the planetary energies. In this case, we are integrating our ability to think and communicate with authority and integrity, applying ourselves to accomplishing our goals, as well as tapping into insight and new ideas around issues related to self worth, security and business. MyForecast explains, “The grand trine, exact two days before the New Moon, infuses our information, communication and transportation flows with responsibility, containment, ramifications and consequences, with jolts and twists in perspective and innovative approaches.”
The New Moon in Virgo comes packed with a Scorpionic punch as it sextiles Jupiter in Scorpio and trines Pluto in Capricorn while Venus has moved into Scorpio this morning.
Moon in Virgo sextile Jupiter in Scorpio brings a powerful cleansing opportunity. Where can we ‘let go’ of frivolity and attachment in order to create more simplicity in our lives? Pluto rules Scorpio wants us to transform while Jupiter promises great return if we willingly do the work of uncovering what lays hidden. Scorpio also rules other peoples resources, which means this influence can produce material support from others if we can get clear on the details of what we truly want and if its best for everyone involved.
The New Moon in Virgo trine Pluto in Capricorn is also supportive energy for cleansing and clearing out the cobwebs; literally and figuratively. MyForecast continues, “Pluto, lord of transformation, is moving in sync with the New Moon, easing cleaning, purging, restructuring and getting to the bottom of any project/problem/issue our minds tackle now.” There is power available to focus our energy if we are willing to uncover what is holding us back.
Venus moved into Scorpio this morning. Venus in Scorpio wants us to connect with what truly brings us pleasure. This may involve a culmination of endings over the next few weeks as we hone our Venusian desires. It also can be a time where we face superficial aspects of the expression of our own loving energy; requiring transformation and coming to new levels of insight where we can find renewed pleasure in learning how to share ourselves and resources with others.
Jupiter and Pluto are coming to a sextile at this New Moon time. This has been a longer transit culminating next week. Jupiter is the planet which rules luck, opportunity, optimism and faith while Pluto brings transformation. We can trust that change can be positive. The AstrologyKing writes, “This is a natural development in your life associated with increased power and influence, spiritual and personal growth, wealth creation and professional advancement.”
With the Sun and Moon having been opposing Neptune over the last few days, there may have been some feelings of doubt or overwhelm leading up to this New Moon, but also spiritual and intuitive insight into what this New Moon is about for you. Hayes writes, “While we may feel we are pulled in two directions, we can also use this opportunity to integrate our highest aspirations and yearnings (Neptune) into the Virgoan bulletpoint plan to create and manifest something truly beautiful and lasting.” Personally, I’ve noticed a desire to eliminate (Virgo) clutter in the mind; feeling overwhelmed with too much information, which distracts from living daily life. Part of a healthy mind is creating a pure environment from which it can operate. Cleansing and filtering the information we absorb can help calm the overwhelm that Neptune in Pisces may feel at times.
Look to the house in your chart which the New Moon occurs for more information as to what area of your life will be affected.
Make it a great day!
