We are heading into a New Moon in Sagittarius at 15’07” happening at 12:20am (early tomorrow). This New Moon is setting the stage for the next two weeks until the Full Moon in Cancer at 0’49”. Sagittarius is about expanding our world whether it is through new perspectives, opportunities, travel, philosophy or education. Sagittarius energy takes risks; shooting its arrow into the unknown. The New Moon in Sagittarius asks that we open up to new possibilities for our life direction, as the Sun and the Moon are working together in this inspired sign.
This New Moon is occurring just as Mars and Neptune are conjuncting in Pisces while squaring the New Moon. This energetic dynamic suggests that we have the opportunity to expand our worlds while transcending unconscious patterns which may be holding us back. Sagittarius has a strong moral code and, with the square from Mars and Neptune, we may be seeing where we need to transcend self defeating behaviors. We may be experiencing awareness of how we need to change our lives in order to expand in new directions. It’s important to bring compassionate awareness to our challenges while seeing clearly what needs to change.
Today is particularly sensitive as the Moon squares Mars in Pisces until 9:11p (MST) and then squares Neptune in Pisces until 9:43pm (MST). Moon square Mars times can create tension between our emotional expression and our actions. Be aware of the desire to react quickly without thinking things through. Moon in Sagittarius is easily excitable while Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces lends toward imagination and idealism. Today we may be highly susceptible to feelings of guilt or to being overly sacrificial. This is also an energy of potentially overdoing things as Sagittarius may not know where the boundaries are and Mars conjunct Neptune in Pisces may prefer to escape through numbing techniques. Taking action to employ compassion and empathy towards others is one way to facilitate this energy. Spiritual practices can also help mitigate the impulsive nature of Mars. This energy in the New Moon chart can enhance any creative expression we begin at this time.

We can see the Truth of situations and gain insight into how we may act out our woundedness through feeling like a victim; unsupported by the Universe. We can bring healing through transcending negative behavior patterns and trusting in the larger order of the Universe. Forgiving ourselves and others is important to facilitate mental transformation.
