The Moon has moved into Cancer; the sign it rules. The symbol connected to the sign Cancer is the crab. Crabs live in the ocean; symbolic of the instinctive emotions and the unconscious. Today, feelings run high and we may not know from where they originate. Our guiding intuition is strong. The crab is easily startled as it carefully side steps to avoid what’s in its way. Be aware of avoidance tactics when relating to others as we may be feeling extra sensitive; unwilling to express ourselves. Crabs carry their home (shell) on their back which provides natural armor for their tender bodies. Some crabs can pull their bodies inside their shell at anytime for protection; symbolic of the desire to protect our emotional self. Crabs do have claws which they are able to use to find food…as well as for defense when been attacked. Be aware of being overly attached to our emotions; potentially wounding others in an emotional whirlwind. When the Moon is in Cancer we are ‘feeling’. We express our strong emotions with sensitivity, compassion, kindness, protectiveness, caution and in a nurturing way.
The Moon in Cancer opposes Saturn in Capricorn until 12:09pm (MST) adding to the potential inability to express our emotions completely. But, with this Moon/Saturn opposition, we may be able to temper some of the overly sensitive lunar expression; bringing a more grounded expression of the emotions. Be aware of wanting to pull into our shells too much, preventing us from emotional connection with ourselves or others.
The Moon trines Jupiter in Scorpio the rest of the day until tomorrow at 12:09am (MST). Moon/Jupiter energy, in a harmonious angle to one another, will lighten our moods. We will be feeling more optimistic. The trine in Water signs helps us to express our feelings with ease. In Cancer and Scorpio respectively, we may be feeling the desire to retreat at home or someplace where we can feel supported, nurtured, comforted and protected. It can be a good time to share deeply; bringing renewal to the emotional self. Be aware of wanting to over indulge in food, as Cancer enjoys feeling nurtured through food and Jupiter wants growth/expansion!
Transiting Venus in Leo will be squaring Uranus in Taurus today, at 9:33pm (MST). This energy will color the day with unexpected shifts and changes in our relationships, tastes and values. The Fixed nature of both signs can challenge us to change but also can help us stay committed as we welcome new insight and work to bring more freedom into our relationships with others.
