Happy New Moon in Gemini!

Today the New Moon in Gemini at 22’44” occurs at 1:43pm (MST). Currently we are in the Dark Moon time, just before the New Moon, when the Moon is not illuminated in anyway; a time for quieting and self reflection as we prepare to welcome the New Moon energies.

A New Moon time is when the Sun and the Moon align; bringing the creative, self expression and the receptive, responsive energies to work together. It’s also when the Moon is just beginning to grow in size, therefore, it’s the beginning of what is to be revealed at the Full Moon. New Moons are seed planting times; great for initiating what we would like to see manifest during the next Full Moon through setting intentions, performing ritual, or tuning into what the universe is communicating to us as we feel a renewed connection to Spirit.

This New Moon in Gemini will bring with it lots of Mercurial, communicative energy. Our minds will be buzzing and bubbling with new ideas. We will be feeling inquisitive; like the butterfly flitting from flower to flower, gathering pollen to share with other flowers.

Mercury in Cancer, the planet which rules Gemini, has just sextiled Uranus in Taurus bringing deep and enlightening insight into our thoughts. As we move toward a Moon sextile Uranus then conjunction of Mercury tomorrow, this New Moon is preparing us to communicate those insights. There is change in the air; embrace it!

Just after the New Moon, it goes Void of Course for the remainder of the day. As usual, it’s a time for completing things we have already initiated but not a great time for starting anything new. Best to wait until tomorrow when the Moon moves into Cancer. It is a good time to continue connecting to our intuition at this New Moon time through mediation or spiritual centering practices.

Venus will ingress Leo today at 3:54pm (MST). This will enliven our pleasure seeking desires and creative expression with confidence and enthusiasm; aiding the building expression of the New Moon in Gemini ideas.
