Today the Moon is in Sagittarius. The New Moon occurred earlier this morning at 15’07” of Sagittarius. The Moon trines Uranus in Aries all day/night. This energy is a symbol of what the New Moon is setting the stage for over the next two weeks, as we head toward the Full Moon on December 22nd, 2018. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the largest planet in the solar system (1300 Earth’s could fit inside of it!). Jupiter is symbolic of growth, expansion, luck, optimism, expanding consciousness, philosophy as well as ethics and morals. Uranus, retrograding in Aries, is symbolic of change; sometimes shocking but ultimately for our growth and progress. Uranus in Aries brings the focus of this change on our self expression. We may be feeling the desire to break free from limiting self expressive patterns (the Moon is symbolic of our habits) and the New Moon in Jupiter ruled Sagittarius is giving us the impetus to do so. This energy is full of intuition and insight. Following those inclinations is important as we expand in new directions. Overall, this energy can bring confidence in making change in our lives. Saturn is widely trining Uranus suggesting changes we make can stick!
The New Moon in Sagittarius squared Mars and Neptune, which conjuncted this morning at 7:12am (MST). There may be patterns we have been avoiding dealing with, specifically related to the desire to transcend. Are we recognizing that we rely on addictive substances or are attached to fanatic ideas? Maybe we are being overly empathetic or maybe we need to be more compassionate? The square asks that we take action, so some adjustment is necessary. Do we need to be more compassionate with ourselves or others or do we need to let go and move on from situations and people that are toxic? There is also an extremely creative energy in this square. Neptune rules imagination while Mars rules action/assertive energy. Both planets in Pisces enhance our creative connection. We can come up with creative solutions at this time or simply initiate a creative project in our lives. This is also a highly compassionate energy, as Neptune rules embracing everything without judgment. With the square, we need to incorporate compassion and empathy while having a plan for growth and change.
Mercury, now direct in Scorpio, is trining Chiron in Pisces which is stationary, moving direct on Sunday. Chiron symbolizes a wound which we act out. Pisces is symbolic of our belief in something larger than ourselves: God, The Universe, Spirit, etc. When we collectively have a would in this sign, we may have trouble believing in something larger than us expressed as lack of faith, being cynical, fear of opening up to others, being overly sensitive or gullible and avoiding intimacy. We may feel like the victim of the Universe. As a result, we can seek transcendence through unhealthy means or attach ourselves to ideas by being influenced by others whom we think have the ‘key’ to the divine connection we seek. We can misplace our empathy, identifying with the victimization we feel, in others. Some may develop a hard shell, refusing to acknowledge a spiritual connection to the Universe. With the trine from Mercury in Scorpio we have an opportunity to clearly see how this wound operates and transform our relationship to it. This is a healing energy. Be gentle while opening up to the Truth which Mercury in Scorpio can bring.
